Project Background
During the summer construction season, a major underground passage interchange project in Nantong, Jiangsu Province reached a key stage.
After the main structure of the interchange was completed, the steel sheet piles installed on both sides of the foundation pit needed to be removed.
As an important part of the temporary support system, the efficient and safe extraction of these piles directly affected the progress of the project.
Construction Challenge
The steel sheet piles were densely arranged with very small spacing and embedded deeply into the ground.
Key challenges included:
- Dense pile arrangement on both sides of the structure
- Pile depth reaching approximately 10 meters
- Limited operating space
- Requirement for safe and efficient extraction
Traditional removal methods would be time-consuming and labor-intensive.
To address these challenges, the construction team selected the Beiyi BYPM360LS H-Beam Pile Extractor.
Equipment Solution
The BYPM360LS pile extractor is designed for removing H-beam piles and steel sheet piles used in foundation support systems.
During the project, the equipment was used to extract:
- 300 × 500 steel sheet piles
- 300 × 700 steel sheet piles
With its strong clamping force and hydraulic pulling capacity, the pile extractor was able to remove the piles smoothly and efficiently.
Operators controlled the equipment using remote control operation, improving both safety and operational convenience on site.
Construction Results
